Earth fault and PEN protection trips
Many chargers include open-PEN protection that disconnects if the supply voltage moves outside its window. On some streets this triggers occasionally without anything being wrong with your installation. Reading the unit's logs distinguishes that from a genuine fault.
When it's the car, not the charger
Vehicle-side charging faults and cable lock failures present exactly like charger faults. Testing with a known-good cable and checking the unit's session log usually settles it in minutes.
Offline units and smart tariffs
A charger that has dropped off wifi will often refuse scheduled charging while still working on a manual start. That is a configuration fix, not a repair, and we will say so.
