How our fixed-price quoting works
Our quoting process: photo or on-site survey, a written fixed price covering parts, labour and certification, and how any variations are handled.

Hourly rates put all the risk on the customer: if the job takes longer, you pay more, and you find out at the end. We quote fixed prices instead, which means the survey has to be done properly before the number is issued.
Here is exactly how that runs, including what happens in the small number of cases where something genuinely unforeseeable appears.

Survey before price
For many jobs, clear photos of the consumer unit, the meter and the work area are enough. For rewires, kitchens, extensions and anything involving groundwork, we visit. The survey is free and there is no obligation.
What the price includes
Materials, labour, testing, the certificate, and building-regs notification where the work is notifiable. Waste removal from our own work. If something is excluded — full plaster finishing, for example — it says so on the quote rather than being assumed.
Variations
Occasionally opening up reveals something nobody could have seen: a cable damaged by previous work, or a hidden junction box. In that case we stop, explain, price it, and only continue once you have agreed. You are never billed for something you did not approve.

How long is a quote valid?
Quotes hold for a stated period on the document; material price movements are the usual reason for any change.
Can I supply my own materials?
Yes for many items — we'll say clearly which parts we need to supply to stand behind the installation.
