Why agents move their testing to one contractor
The cost of an EICR is rarely the problem for an agent. The problem is chasing access, chasing reports, chasing remedial quotes from a second trade, and then explaining a delay to a landlord who thought it was already handled. Every one of those is an admin cost that never appears on an invoice.
Grouping addresses with one NICEIC Domestic Installer removes most of it. Tests get scheduled by area rather than by whoever shouted loudest, reports arrive in one consistent format, and remedial work is quoted by the same person who coded the observation, so nothing needs re-inspecting before it can be priced.
- Tenant access arranged directly by us, then confirmed back to you
- Testing grouped by postcode to cut travel and cost per property
- Consistent report format across every address on the portfolio
- Remedials itemised per property and tied to coded observations
- Evening and weekend slots at no premium, 8am to 9pm seven days
- Re-inspection dates diarised at issue, so renewals are not a surprise
How a batch booking works
- 1Send the address listAddresses, property sizes and tenant contact details where you have them. We price the batch in writing before anything is booked.
- 2We schedule by areaProperties are grouped by postcode so travel time is paid once rather than per address, which is where the batch saving comes from.
- 3Access arranged with tenantsWe contact tenants directly, agree slots including evenings and weekends, and confirm the schedule back to you.
- 4Testing and codingEvery circuit tested and every observation coded C1, C2, C3 or FI, with photographs attached to the report.
- 5Reports returned per propertyPDFs named by address, with the schedule of test results, ready to forward to the landlord and to the local authority if asked.
- 6Remedials quoted, then trackedItemised quotes per property, work carried out on your instruction, and written confirmation on completion.
Agent questions
How many properties do you need before batch pricing applies?
From two addresses upwards it is usually worth grouping. The saving comes from testing several properties in the same area on the same day, so travel time only gets paid once.
Can you deal with tenants directly?
Yes. With the tenant's contact details we arrange access ourselves and confirm back to you, which removes the part of the job agents spend the most time on.
How are reports delivered?
By email as PDFs, named by address, with the schedule of test results and photographs of every coded observation attached to the same file.
Do you quote remedial work separately?
Always. Remedials are itemised per property and tied to the coded observation they relate to, so you can pass a clear figure to the landlord rather than a lump sum.
Can you work evenings and weekends?
Yes, 8am to 9pm seven days a week at no premium, which is usually the only way to test a fully occupied property in one visit.
Do you track when the next inspection is due?
We diarise the recommended re-inspection date on issue and can prompt you ahead of it, so renewals do not arrive as a surprise at tenancy change.
